This clear press glass pedestal came in several different heights. It was illustrated in the Gebruder von Streit Glassworks 1913 and 1930 catalogs. The catalogs included illustrations of a finely ribbed glass dome with fabric shades.
These pedestals are often used incorrectly with Clarke pyramid shades which do not fit precisely but make for good display stands for Clarke fairy lamps.
The pressed design is often referred to as Cane or Hobstar.
While many are unmarked, several have been found with the Registered Design number 581523 (March - April, 1911) embossed on the base.
